Myrl Phelps was raised with ten siblings in rural New Hampshire. Of necessity, economy and function were priorities and art was considered frivolous. For thirty-five years he has been developing his skills as a finish carpenter, incorporating his artistic talent. This year he has totally immersed himself in the Comprehensive program at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship and hopes to establish his reputation as a fine craftsman of unique creative, functional furniture.
