Michael Podmaniczky
Mike Podmaniczky was graduated from Kenyon College (long ago) with a degree in Studio Art. He worked as a model maker, pattern maker, cabinet maker and finally was foreman of the William Cannel Boatbuilding shop in Camden, Maine. He switched gears and received his MA in Conservation through the Smithsonian Institution and has been a furniture conservator, currently senior furniture conservator, at Winterthur Museum and an associate museum professor in the Winterthur/University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation (WUDPAC) since 1986. He is in the process of making the transition back to Maine and will offer furniture conservation, studio furniture, yacht joinery and carving/gilding work out of his shop on Munjoy Hill in Portland.
