Tim completed the Center's twelve-week intensive program in 1998, and stayed on stayed on as workshop assistant, and then artist in residence (Studio Fellow). He then moved to a highly-regarded cooperative studio in Hoboken, New Jersey where he was able to build furniture on commission and work collaboratively with the studio's other makers. In 2002 he returned to Maine settling in Appleton and became the Center's first resident instructor. Over the course of the following years he transitioned back to building furniture full time, as well as leading two of the Center's Twelve-week Intensive Programs annually, Tim regards himself as much a teacher as a furniture maker.
“ I feel as I have come close to an ending point with this design, and am looking forward to working through another chair style in the future, and making some more of these. I love designing and making chairs. As Brian Boggs said, "once you have made a chair everything else just seems flat."
