“I use the processes of woodturning and metal spinning to explore my interests in sculptural form. In my day job as a professor of sculpture, my teaching includes, amoung other subjects, the fundamentals of figurative sculpture and wood constructed sculpture.
In Flat Top, I am combining my interests in woodturning, Metal spinning, figurative work and constructed sculpture in a head study, I nthis piece, I explored the came arc or curve to create both the head and the upper torso.”
