Nathan Kushner
A resident of Ontario Canada, Nathan has studied woodworking and furniture design at various locations in British Columbia and Ontario. He is a graduate of the furniture program at Sheridan College. His Fellowship here at the Center was from 2005-2006. Nathan was the recipient of an Ontario Crafts Council Scholarship for 2005.
"In the process of designing there are three focal points that I try to balance. Practicality, scale and technical skills are the foundation for these designs. However I do occasionally veer from the beaten path and try something that doesn't relate to production standards. In my attempts to stretch these boarders I feel my furniture takes on more artistic qualities. A piece of furniture can be more than just that. Furniture can warm an environment and bring smiles to those who come around."
