From New Lisbon, Wisconsin, Chloris holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin. In 2005 he enrolled in the Center's Twelve-Week Intensive Program and also worked as workshop assistant. Currently, Chloris is a Center for Furniture Craftsmanship Studio Fellow.
"When creating a utilitarian object, such as a table, I rarely think of it as such. Nearly all my pieces have a conceptual vein of some form running through them. For me, the concept defines the piece and gives it life. Even if a table was initially set out to be created, once a conceptual notion is introduced, its utility will become secondary in defining its existence."
