“Wandering in and around Providence Rhode Island I encounter pockets of abandonment and deterioration. These places hold a beauty that is more than just content. Yet, sometimes I take materials away from these places in order to make them into objects that can stand-alone as well as for a remembrance of place.

Drift Bench is one of these pieces. Though the beauty of the material was already in existence when I saw the lumber lying amongst the other debris at the water’s edge, my intent was to make the material approachable by transforming it into an object of use and value, rather than its then current existence as refuse.”
