Where does a billionaire vigilante sit to remove his cape and cowl? American chestnut trees have blight and many people are trying to save them from extinction. Where do you keep the trees' medicine to nurse it back to health? How can a desk exude the qualities that the person that sits behind it is trying to exemplify? These are some of the questions I considered when I designed and built these pieces. Sometimes it is the material and other times it’s an idea that dictates the design and end result. Whatever the process may be, it is that transformation of the material and, in a small way, myself, that I enjoy with the completion of each project." – Reuben Foat
