An honors graduate of Parnham College, he studied under the renowned designer John Makepeace and is the 5th from only a total of 8 Americans to have attended this distinguished program. Brian has been awarded two consecutive residencies in the Furniture/Woodworking program at Anderson Ranch Arts Center, and has served as instructor in several of the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship’s Twelve-week Intensive Programs. Brian was a Studio Fellow in 2006 and currently hold the position of Fellowship Program Coordinator here at the Center.
“My passion for applied decoration has led me to combine quilt patterns with the simple, yet elegant furniture that is associated so much with our idea of early American communities. It is my hope that this work resonates with the viewer and gives rise to the feelings of comfort one may feel in connection to the traditions and communities of our forbearers.”
