"I have always has a fascination for things that move, for mechanical devices, and for the principal of action and re-action. This interest led me to a workshop on "Machines" with Arthur Ganson and another on "Automata" with Michael Croft. My "Frog Automaton" was a result of that exploration. Additionally, as with much of what I create, a twist of humor is frequently an active ingredient. While I would like to impress the observer with my scholarly knowledge of mechanical engineering and the science of physics, the reality is that primarily I just like toys with parts that move. Much of my other recent work, including more automata, marble runs and a bowling ball nut cracker, reflect just that."
