September 22 – 26
Participants create figurative and structural furniture (and other objects) from locally harvested saplings and milled lumber. Jon teaches traditional and inventive techniques that facilitate artistic expression. The class begins with a visit to the forest and covers tree identification, harvesting, appropriate tools, carving, joinery, and surface adornment. Students may expect a thoughtful, creative, and playful week.
