Beth designed this two-week course as an important next step for students who have already completed an introductory turning course. She introduces a series of exercises and projects to advance participants’ skills in spindle, faceplate and hollow turning. She also encourages students to bring projects with which they need help.
While Beth’s instruction focuses strongly on techniques, she works closely with students to discover and exercise their own creative voices. Sharpening is a constant topic, as is safety. In addition, participants learn to make specialized tools that resolve woodturning problems.
