March 21 – April 18, 2008
The pieces on display were created by current and past participants of our Studio Fellowship Program.
Six Studio Fellows at a time share workshop space in the Thomas Miller Jackson Building. Individual terms range from a month to a year. Fellows receive the benefits of free studio space and access to faculty, visiting artists, the Messler Gallery, the Fine Woodworking Library, and, most importantly, each other. In this supportive environment they are challenged to experiment with new techniques and to explore new designs.
Since the opening of the Jackson Building in 2004, more than thirty emerging-professional and established woodworkers have benefited from this opportunity. “Celebrating the Studio Fellowship” is an annual exhibition open to work made during or subsequent to their Fellowships.
